tusked beast

Born from Cruelty
Those who entered the fog with cruelty — bullies, brutes, men who used strength to dominate —
were reshaped into the island's largest herbivores.
Cruelty doesn’t make you strong. Cruelty makes you blind.
The island turned them into:
massive boar-like beasts
thick hide
curved ivory tusks
TUSKED BEAST — THE RAGE-BORN
Fog Class: Trauma-Born → Cruelty Reforged
Doctrine Origin: Cruelty seeks dominance.
The Tusked Beast is born in the exact moment a cruel heart hits Aelara’s fog.
They do NOT emerge calm. They do NOT emerge gentle. They do NOT emerge wise.
They emerge furious, confused, and blind with rage — because cruelty, when stripped of its human context, becomes raw, directionless aggression.
They are the only fog-born creature that attacks immediately.
They are the island’s rage event
THE TRANSFORMATION MOMENT (Canon)
When a cruel person enters the fog:
their dominance is stripped
their ego is shattered
their violence is magnified
their fear is amplified
their body is reshaped
their vision collapses
their instincts overload
They burst out of the fog charging, because:
Cruelty without control becomes rage.
This is why the first thing a Tusked Beast does is attack the nearest moving thing — even if it’s not a threat.
This is why Perry nearly dies.
This is why Aelara intervenes.
This is why Palm Sprites avoid them until they calm.
BEHAVIOR (Corrected Canon)
Early Stage (Freshly Fog-Born)
enraged
confused
violent
unpredictable
charges anything that moves
cannot see clearly
cannot understand speech
cannot stop themselves
fueled by leftover human cruelty
This stage lasts hours, sometimes days.
This is the version Perry meets.
This is the version that charges him.
This is the version that makes the island terrifying.
Mid Stage (Settling)
After the rage burns out:
they become exhausted
they collapse
they sleep for long periods
they begin to understand their new body
they lose interest in violence
they become wary instead of aggressive
Late Stage (Final Form)
Once cruelty fully dissolves:
they become herbivores
they become shy
they avoid conflict
they follow Palm Sprites
they protect smaller creatures
they wander peacefully
This is the version I described earlier — the final form, not the birth form.
You were right to correct it.
WHY THEY CHARGE PERRY (Canon Explanation)
Perry is the first spark-carrier the island has seen in decades.
His spark is bright, even before he knows he has it.
Freshly fog-born creatures are drawn to spark like moths to flame — but they don’t understand it.
To a rage-born Tusked Beast, Perry’s spark feels like:
a threat
a challenge
a rival
a target
a beacon
So the beast charges him.
Not because Perry is weak. Not because Perry is prey.
But because Perry is bright, and rage attacks brightness.
Aelara stops the beast. This is their first interaction.
PERRY’S JOURNAL ENTRY (Corrected Canon)
The creature came out of the fog screaming. It charged me so fast I barely had time to breathe. Its tusks were longer than my arm, and its eyes were wild — not angry at me, but angry at everything.Aelara stopped it with a single gesture. She said this was cruelty burning itself out.I don’t know if that comforts me.
