Periwinkle Alexander Campoon was a world‑renowned explorer who vanished in 1936 while searching for a rumored “lost city of gold” hidden somewhere in the wilds of Florida. He left his home in Providence, boarded a train bound for Jacksonville… and was never seen again.

Until 1999.

Twenty‑seven years later, Perry reportedly washed ashore on a St. Petersburg beach — sunburned, dehydrated, and carrying a journal full of strange accounts: hidden islands, impossible creatures, and places that shouldn’t exist on any map.

Little is known about what happened during those missing years.

Now his grandson has taken up the mantle, following the clues in Perry’s journal. Many of the wild places Perry once explored have been paved over or swallowed by Florida’s growth — but a few markers remain. And they point toward something the world has forgotten:

Campoon Island — where monsters go to retire.
